CAIA Tutoring

One of MyGuru’s most important pillars is our belief in ensuring our clients are not only satisfied, but get a maximum return on their investment. You do not have to make any long-term commitment in order to start your CAIA test prep with MyGuru, beyond purchasing your first hour of instruction. However, if you are interested in making a larger investment and lowering your hourly rate, we offer several tiers of instruction and packages of hours. You can make the choice that works best for you—each of our tiers has helped students achieve excellent results on the CAIA. Furthermore, many of our students have gone on to pass other financial industry exams, including FINRA exams, the CFA, CMA, GMAT, and more. And many MyGuru alumni have landed enviable positions at premier financial firms.

  Our Standard Online CAIA tutoring is the most affordable option we offer, and provides meaningful savings as compared to the rates our competitors offer. This tier offers CAIA prep that’s tailored to each individual student’s needs, led by a tutor with significant CAIA tutoring experience. Every student in the Standard Online tier receives PDFs of the notes from their whiteboard sessions within 24 hours of the completion of the lesson, thus offering ongoing support as you continue your test prep after every live session.

• Premium Online | $200 per hour | $900 for 5 hours | $2,100 for 12 hours | $4,000 for 24 hours
  

  The Premium Online tutoring tier is our highest value offering. Students who choose this option receive audio, video, and whiteboard recordings of every one of their sessions, which remain available for up to three months following the final lesson with MyGuru. The Premium Online option also offers private access to an interactive whiteboard, which allows students to practice applying their testing strategies live in the presence of the tutor. Students can also post questions or comments between sessions. Your tutor will monitor the board daily and respond to your needs and concerns, which allows your whole test prep experience to be continually interactive.

We’ve designed all our packages in order to grant you maximum flexibility, whether you prefer to schedule regular 60, 90, or 12-minute sessions. You can also choose your scheduling based on your own availability and preferences. After purchasing a multi-hour package, any additional lessons beyond that initial package will be billed at the prorated hourly package rate. And upon completion of your CAIA tutoring, if you’ve paid for any unused hours, we will refund you (minus a 5% processing fee).

If you would prefer to conduct your tutoring in-person, we can accommodate that in most major US cities, at the same prices as our Premium Online instruction. However, we recommend online tutoring, given that the CAIA exam is administered on a computer. Additionally, online tutoring offers many dynamic features that in-person instruction lacks.

Preparing yourself to pass the CAIA isn’t just something you can cram for overnight. There is a vast amount of knowledge you need to acquire—and a wide array of skills you need to strengthen. For that reason, we recommend you start with a personal commitment of at least 1-2 hours of daily practice, five days a week, for six weeks.

We also recommend, both at the beginning of your CAIA prep and at regular intervals throughout, that you test your skills with official sample questions from the CAIA website. This will help you get a sense of where you stand—and how you’re progressing—with the actual content you’ll encounter on the CAIA exam.

Additionally, you will need to obtain a sufficiently large and accurate package of CAIA practice problems so you can continue your test prep. But it’s not enough to simply do the problems. At the end of each practice session, you should thoroughly review both your correct and incorrect answers. Only by learning more about why the correct answers are correct and how they’re derived will you really build mastery of the material.

And while we support a rigorous work ethic, it’s also highly important to take regular breaks, especially between completing practice problems and reviewing the answers. Building in this kind of break allows your mental capacity to regenerate, so you can actually build your understanding of how the problems and solutions work. Students who don’t take breaks tend to simply accept the explanations without critically assessing them or assessing the students’ own prior strategies. This prevents you from deepening your understanding and internalizing superior approaches.
