MyGuru Independent Contractor Agreement
Please fill out the form below to sign and agree to our independent contractor agreement. Even if you’ve previously signed a hard copy of this agreement, please sign it again as we’re going “paperless.” After signing, we’ll be notified via email and asked to sign as well. Once that happens, we’ll all be emailed a copy of the agreement. The agreement above references an “exhibit A.” Exhibit A refers to your hourly rate for tutoring, which shall be agreed in advance of each new tutor/student relationship.
Exhibit A
You will be paid an hourly rate for any given student equal to whatever is agreed to via email prior to your first meeting. This rate is sometimes adjusted manually or fixed, but in general will be equal to 70% of whatever the student is paying, after bulk discounts and credit card fees, for the first 20 hours. This increases over time according to the below schedule:
- Hours 1-20 = 70%
- Hours 21-40 = 75%
- Hours 41 -60 = 80%
- Hours 61 or more = 85%
For example, a student with a base rate of $55 who buys a 15 hour block would result in a payment to the tutor of $55.00x 85% (reflecting a 15% discount for buying in bulk) x 97.5% (reflecting the credit card fee charged to MyGuru) x 70% (for hours 1 through 20) = $31.90 payable to the tutor.
