## CFE EXAM Overview

To earn the CFE credential, you must pass the [CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) exam](https://www.acfe.com/cfe-credential/about-the-cfe-exam) from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. It tests your knowledge of four major areas:

- Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes
- Law
- Investigation
- Fraud Prevention and Deterrence

Most students prepare for the CFE exam using [self-study materials from ACFE](https://www.acfe.com/training-events-and-products/cfe-exam-preparation/cfe-exam-prep---study-on-your-own-options). While these prep solutions are generally filled with helpful explanations, practice problems, and test-taking strategies, it can become overwhelming.
