GMAT Online Office Hours Membership Program

Whether you are self-studying for the GMAT, enrolled in an in-person or online test-prep course, or are already engaged in one-on-one private tutoring, you may periodically run into specific problems or concepts that require additional help. Our weekly office hours program provides a forum to get your specific questions answered, and learn from the questions of others, live and in real-time with an expert GMAT tutor.

One key to building your GMAT skills is carefully reviewing practice problems to uncover where you went wrong to develop a more effective approach to similar questions the next time you encounter them. Such a comprehensive understanding of how to best approach a problem requires looking at it from multiple angles and potentially having it explained in different ways. The majority of GMAT textbooks and practice exams will typically provide one method for solving any particular problem, but our expert GMAT tutors are experienced at explaining multiple problem solving approaches.

Of course hiring a private tutor is a significant investment in time and money, so MyGuru’s office hours program can provide the extra help to get you over the GMAT hump and even if you cannot attend a specific office hours session, we record all of the sessions for members to view for the duration of their program.

What is Covered During GMAT Office Hours Sessions?

In our weekly online GMAT office hour, MyGuru GMAT tutors are prepared to answer any questions you might have from the Official Guide to the GMAT as well as the online GMAT Official Practice Exams They are also available to provide answers to more general questions such as what content is on the test, how long to take to study for it, or advice on how to build necessary study skills indirectly outside of your planned GMAT study time. Using our online screen sharing technology, you can also share questions directly from other third-party online practice materials you may have used.

How it Works

  1. Ideally, students submit questions at least 24 hours before each office hours session, referencing specific problems or concepts as articulated in the Official Guide to the GMAT.

To ensure the instructor can clearly answer each question and so the timing and cadence of each session can be planned, we encourage students to submit questions in advance with clear reference to specific concepts or questions covered in the Official Guide to the GMAT. If you have a question that isn’t from the Official Guide, it is even more important to pose it in advance.

  1. Weekly live sessions are recorded for later viewing.

Each member of the program receives a meeting invite and WebEx meeting link associated with each session.

MyGuru online GMAT office hours run every Monday from Noon to 1PM CST. Whether you are working full-time, studying full-time, still in school, or some combination of the above, hopefully you can take time out of your busy schedule to join our office hours session(s) live. However, if you cannot join live, each session is recorded and made available to each member of the program for the duration of their membership.

  1. We use cutting edge yet easy-to-use online tutoring technology.

The instructor uses a combination of an interactive RealTimeBoard whiteboard and WebEx videoconferencing to conduct each session. Upon signup, members will receive an individual meeting invite for each session they have registered for including a specific link for each WebEx meeting.

  1. Each student receives an email with relevant links and downloads after each session.

Students receive a link to view the recording as well as a .pdf copy of the whiteboard used during the session for continued reference.
