MyGuru typically seeks tutors with at least three years of experience and 90th percentile standardized test scores or better. The ideal academic background of a MyGuru tutor is an advanced degree from a top rated institution, although current students with prior experience tutoring are also encouraged to apply. Prior experience with other private tutoring organizations or major test prep firms is also highly valued. All MyGuru tutors are independent contractors free to maintain private tutoring relationships and even work with other companies if they choose.
