We offer custom tutoring to pre-high school, high school, & college students, as well as test prep for the ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT or MCAT. The MyGuru network of independent contractors deliver tutoring at home or at a pre-screened network of local libraries and coffee shops throughout Chicago-land.

We seek to occupy a unique “niche” between hiring an individual tutor and working with a high priced tutoring or test prep agency.  Our test prep packages combine simple, freely available and low priced test prep materials with our expert tutors to create simple yet powerful customized tutoring.  Tutoring occurs in the home or in local libraries or coffee shops.

At the high school level, we work with both students and parents to set objectives and track progress. Many of our tutors currently attend or recently graduated from elite academic institutions. Our tutors come from Northwestern University, the University of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Notre Dame, Duke, and across the Ivy League. We make every effort to match the student with the right tutor.

For college students, our local presence allows us to match our students with upperclassmen, TAs, or even PhD candidates who have in-depth knowledge of the subject. They also bring knowledge of the specific class itself as taught at your university.

Out test prep services are unique. They represent a rare combination of affordability and quality. Our tutors have years of experience teaching advanced methods for getting higher scores on standardized tests. Many have years of experience with large, nationally known test prep firms. Because MyGuru doesn’t invest in one-size-fits all strategies or expensive physical classroom space, we offer the most tailored and affordable tutoring available. We currently offer test prep for the: ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, and LSAT.
